About Bayswater’s owners

Louise and Chester originally purchased the property in 1983 when it was a Motel and Tea House. It took about six weeks to work out that unfortunately there was no money in scones, jam and cream and it wasn’t long before the ‘Courtyard Restaurant’ morphed out of the original Tea House. Later this became ‘Bistro 40’ and then finally the ‘Only Seafood Restaurant’ followed in 1991.

The holiday house, “Bayswater”, came into being in 2007. Up until then, it had been our family home but we moved in above the restaurant located in front of Bayswater and decided to let the house out to the public.

Over the last 12 years, Bayswater has become a popular place for people to holiday in Paihia. We hope you will come and stay with us and enjoy what Paihia and the Bay of Islands have to offer.
